Registration Dates

Online registration for the Spring 2024 semester will begin on November 20.

Students may register for courses at any time on or after their designated registration date found via myWidener.   For the Spring 2024 term, online registration will close at 11:59 pm on Saturday, January 13.  Any changes to registration after the closing date must be communicated to and made by the Registrar’s Office.

Registration Waitlists

Waitlists will be in effect for the registration period. Available seats for all waitlists will be held for 7 days. If you are on a waitlist, you are advised to check your email at least once a week for notification of an available seat. During the first week of classes, the available waitlisted seats will be held for 24 hours.

Examinations

Carefully look at the examination time and examination type to plan an acceptable examination schedule as well as course schedule. If you do not want exams on consecutive days (e.g., an exam on Monday and another on Tuesday), then don't schedule those classes. A student may request that a final exam be moved if:

  • The student has two final exams at the same time on the same day,
  • The student has two final exams in consecutive exam slots, or
  • The student has two final exams on the same date.
Pre–Semester Courses

Students may not take more than 2 intensive course/pre-semester course credits (these intensive/pre-semester course credits, offered prior to the beginning of the semester, will not be factored into a student’s overload status).

Credit Requirements

Summer Credits: Students enrolling in summer courses may take a maximum of 6 credits.

Fall/Spring Credits: Regular Division students must enroll for a minimum of 12 credits and a maximum of 16 credits. Extended Division students must enroll for a minimum of 8 credits and a maximum of 11 credits.

Overload Exceptions:  Intensive/pre-semester course credits will not contribute to an overload of credits.

Academic Support

Any student in the Academic Success Program (GPA less than 2.300) must meet with the Dean of Students before registering for classes.
