Law School Commencement

Widener Law Commonwealth is pleased to announce commencement plans that will recognize and honor our December 2022, May 2023, and August 2023 graduates. This year’s commencement ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 18.

Graduates will celebrate in person during a live-streamed ceremony, which will take place at 4:00 pm at the Scottish Rite Theatre and Ballroom, located at 2701 North 3rd Street in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Commencement FAQ’s

Where can I get more information regarding the specifics of the commencement ceremony?

We will host commencement information sessions on Tuesday, April 18 in A180 at 12:30 pm and at 5:00 pm. Students will only need to attend one of the information sessions. Regalia and ticket information will be available at this meeting.

Do I need to RSVP for the ceremony?

Yes – you will receive an email with a link to Eventbrite ticketing on April 18. Clicking the link and completing the registration process will allow you to RSVP and to access guest tickets. You will have until May 6 to RSVP.

How many guests can accompany me to the ceremony?

Each graduate will be permitted to bring 8 guests to the ceremony. 

Are there additional tickets available?

The Registrar’s Office will manage the distribution of any unused tickets.  Information about obtaining additional tickets will be provided at the commencement meetings on April 18. 

Are guests required to have a ticket?

Yes.  Guest tickets will be provided electronically via EventBrite and must be presented at the ceremony. 

How do I make an accommodation request for myself or my guests?

Widener Law Commonwealth seeks to ensure that each participant can equally access, and engage in, all commencement festivities.

To request an accommodation, please indicate your needs/the needs of your guest(s) by answering the required questions during the RSVP process in Eventbrite. All reasonable accommodations will be provided to the fullest extent possible.  

What time should graduates plan to arrive at the ceremony?

Graduates should arrive no later than 3:00 pm.

Will there be a professional photographer?

Yes. Professional photographers will be present to capture the moment each graduate crosses the stage and is honored for their achievements. 

Will the ceremony be live streamed?  How do I access that?

Yes. The ceremony will be live streamed and accessible on the live commencement webcast page.

How do I obtain my regalia and cords?

Regalia will be available for pick up at the commencement information session that will be held on April 18. Cords will be distributed on May 18 at the Scottish Rite Theatre.
