Professor Sarah Everhart (her/she) is an expert in environmental law and studies the legal frameworks in which the agricultural sector operates, and how government regulation of food production impacts farm resilience, natural resources, sustainability and social welfare. She has published peer-reviewed articles relating to state and federal agricultural and environmental law and policy.

Professor Everhart is a cum laude graduate of Pace University School of Law School and has a BA in Environmental Studies from Washington College. After graduating law school, she spent many years practicing complex civil litigation. In 2014, Everhart entered academia and worked for the University of Maryland Francis K. Carey School of Law. While at Maryland Carey Law, Everhart taught in its Environmental Law Program, served as the faculty advisor of the Food Law Society, and was the Managing Director for the Agriculture Law Education Initiative.  

Professor Everhart sits on the Board of the Academy of Food Law and Policy and previously served as Chair of the Agricultural Section of the Maryland State Bar Association.
